  Have had insurance through this American Family agent for 20 years. Rarely dealt with this firm except for questions about rates, etc. and everyone seems nice enough. I received a letter last week from the American Family Corporate office notifying us that our policy was being cancelled effective today due to an accident by one of my son's. That was one of several over a 5 year period totaling less than $30,000 in damages. During the same period I paid American Family over $55,000 in premiums. I was surprised but understood. What surprised me was that in my search for another insurance policy I found several that were significantly less expensive with the same coverage and less deductible. The one we chose reduces our previous rates by over 25%. I called Vegyelek today to see if I could extend my cancelled policy by one day to finalize my new insurance and was told no. This is the first time in 20 years I asked the agency to help me with something (other than providing information). I was not happy with the answer but again understood. I should have called earlier but again, only found out my insurance was being cancelled 4 business days ago and have been trying to arrange other coverage. I then called the American Family Corporate office to ask the same question and was told by the customer service person that they could not extend this but that my local agent could by contacting the underwriter that they worked with. Before you purchase insurance through this firm I strongly suggest you consider this experience and decide if this is the level of customer service you desire.
